Light and Dark (a triolet)

This distance from the light to dark
Seems thus the same as life to death
On this Sojourn I must embark
This distance from the light to dark
‘Til sounding trumpets hail to hark
A soul awaiting brighter breath
This distance from the light to dark
Seems thus the same as life to death.

  1. Scott. You, sir, are a show-off! I like this. A lot.

  2. and an infidel! My only short-coming is I ain’t from the hood!

  3. I am impressed Scott… this refrains keep tripping me up

  4. “‘Til sounding trumpets hail to hark / A soul awaiting brighter breath” This is excellent stuff. I wish I was able to use the form as well as this.

  8. Wonderful take SSM! A triolet has its own perculiarity. Reading with the restrains make it more interesting!

  9. Wow Scott, you actually wrote something I was able to read twice in one minute !!! I feel an overwhelming joy at not being mentally exhausted after reading your post and enjoyed it too !! Well Done !!! Is this a new trend??

    • Okay! I get it! Yep, new trend, short and sweet. I’m thinking of sticking to posting poetry only for a while as I’ve been neglecting it. Laughing all the way!

  10. Perfect!
